March/April 2021

We have water!

We started to do the jobs needed after the winter, preparing the vegetable beds, repairing the rabbit fencing and cutting the grass.  But the big news of April was the water connection – which finally means we don’t have to water with buckets filled from the water tanks!

Digging in the pipework meant that we were left with an unturfed area which we decided to plant up as our first flower bed.  And we took advantage of the road closure to carry out some maintenance to the large willow tree which borders and overhangs Mill Road.

Finally we decided to formally open Carmel to visitors on 22nd May.  This will be a quiet affair due to the COVID restrictions but spurred us on to keep developing the garden.  Future plans include a large pond to attract wildlife and a bird hide.
